Xianbiao Hu

Xianbiao Hu Professor, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Penn State University

Xianbiao Hu studies the complex dynamics of transportation systems, how travelers adjust their behavior in response to traffic control strategies, such as pricing on toll roads and lane closure due to special events, and how these adaptations in turn affect the transportation system. He develops mathematical models to investigate how current and future transportation elements affect the whole system, including incentive systems, automated vehicles, and electric vehicles.
